Queens Way Block Party - E. Queens Way

Join us again for the annual Rolling of the Bulls, where runners will go through the gauntlet and be tapped by roller derby girls before being pelleted by water balloons filled with red food coloring. The winner is whoever winds up with the most amount of white clothing left unstained after 2000 balloons have been thrown.
Tickets for the VIP party on the deck of Marker 20 can be found in advance at Brown Paper Tickets or on deck day of event.

Kicking off 7:30 - 8:30pm is Will Overman Band - The music of Will Overman is at once melodic as it is relentless, as refreshingly unique as it is familiar and evocative.

Overman’s music is rooted deeply in the South yet transcends genres and convention, blending essential elements of rock, blues, country toward a collective swell reminiscent of the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Marshall Tucker.

A Virginia native, Overman -- who made it through two levels of NBC’s “The Voice” -- pairs sleek vocals with haunting rhythm and introspective melody. He takes on love, life and loss. All with an edge driven deep in reality.

Whether performing solo or with a full band, Overman is a young Bruce Springsteen, (think “Nebraska”). He’s a folksinger and a rocker (think “Born to Run”), fronting a talented group of musicians swinging from flawless riffs to intoxicating beats.

Performing at 9pm is Roosterfoot
From East Texas, to Carolina, to coastal Virginia Seth Stainback has carved out a niche for himself as a not so typical southern songwriter. With a strong blend of blues, country, folk, old gospel and rock n roll, Stainback has laid the foundation needed to pursue his sound with his group Roosterfoot. In their short time together they have already shared the stage with the likes of Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Jr., ZZ Top, B.B. King, Anders Osborne, Robert Earl Keen, Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Rusted Root, Delta Rae, & Kip Moore to name a few. In 2014 Roosterfoot released “Fire and Steel” produced by Anders Osborne to rave reviews and won numerous awards for the effort. Armed with a tough work ethic, these boys are on a big road with a long haul.
