The 2014 Hampton Holly Days Parade is approaching.  On Saturday, December 13, approximately 1500 people are expected to attend the annual parade and participate in the celebration.  Please remember the following street closures and use the alternative routes listed to access downtown. 

How to Access Downtown - Alternate Routes for Vehicular Traffic

  • Use Armistead Avenue to Queens Way for access to downtown businesses
    • From Settlers Landing Bridge, use northbound Eaton Street to Pembroke Avenue, Pembroke Avenue westbound to Armistead Avenue, then southbound to Queens Way
    • From Interstate 64, use Pembroke Avenue southbound to Armistead Avenue, then southbound to Queens Way
    • From Kecoughtan Road, use northbound LaSalle Avenue to eastbound Queen Street

Street Closure Information

  • All listed street closures will take effect at 4pm on Saturday, December 13, 2014
    • Settlers Landing Road will be closed to all traffic from Armistead Avenue to Eaton Street
      • Westbound traffic from the Settlers Landing Bridge will be detoured to turn north bound on Eaton Street. Access to the Crown Plaza Hotel will be maintained at Eaton Street
      • Westbound Traffic will resume along Settlers Landing Road at Armistead Avenue
      • Eastbound traffic along Settlers Landing Road will be closed from Kecoughtan Road to Eaton Street
    • Eaton Street will have its southbound lane closed from Pembroke Avenue to Settlers Landing Road
      • Access to Mill Point and Wilson's Landing Condominiums must come north bound along Eaton Street from Settlers Landing Road
    • Lincoln Street will have its eastbound lane closed from Armistead Avenue to Eaton Street
      • The westbound lane will be open to Armistead
    • Bridge Street will be closed from Linden Avenue to Settlers Landing
    • ​Kecoughtan Road will be closed at Victoria Boulevard to Settlers Landing Road.  Access to Hampton Yacht Club and Old England/ Magnolia Neighborhoods will be maintained at Victoria Boulevard


Convenient parking is available throughout downtown

  • The Public Parking Garage on Settlers Landing Road is accessible from Old Hampton Lane
    • From Armistead Avenue, take Queens Way eastbound to Franklin Street, Franklin Street southbound to Old Hampton Lane.
  • Harbor Center Garage is accessible from Eaton Street's northbound lane, coming from Settlers Landing Bridge
  • City Hall Surface Lot is accessible from Wine Street, just south of Pembroke Avenue
  • Business patrons can park in the surface lot on Wine Street, just north of Queens Way
  • On-street parking will be prohibited all day on December 13 along Settlers Landing, Eaton Street, Lincoln Street, and King Street between Settlers Landing and Queen's Way
  • Please be advised, you should park in the surface lots or in the garages during the day
