Knight, a genealogist, historian, and author, has spent countless hours researching the first Africans to arrive in English America presents the stories of her characters, Margaret and John, and their hope, faith, and courage, during their fight for freedom 400 years ago.
The conclusion of the epic saga finds Margaret and John struggle to remain afloat and retain the simplest of freedoms while continuing to forge forward to preserve their children's future. It is a story of perseverance for life with only the hope to survive the legalities and escape slavery during the earliest years of America's birth.
