Anne W. Shuford has an extensive 22-year background in the personal wealth management industry having worked as Vice President - Trust Officer with Wachovia’s fiduciary investment division in North Carolina for over half of her career, Senior Vice President at Old Point Trust and Financial Services for five years, Financial Advisor at Wachovia Securities in downtown Hampton, and prior to founding New Point Financial Advisors, she served as a Financial Advisor at Lamberti & Associates for 7 years.
Anne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and is also a graduate of the Trust Management Certification Program of Campbell University in North Carolina.
Active in her community, Anne serves on the Peninsula Fine Arts Center Board, and is also a member of the Newport News Rotary Club. She is also a member of both the Peninsula Estate Planning Council and the Financial Planning Association of Hampton Roads.
Previously, Anne has served as a Peninsula Board member for the Children’s Hospital of Kings Daughters and the Foundation Board for the Virginia Air and Space Center. She also has served on the Development Council of the Mariner’s Museum and the Board of Associates for The Chesapeake.
Anne was recognized by Hampton City Council in 2005 by being appointed to the City of Hampton’s Industrial Development Authority (IDA) where she is actively involved with the economic development of the commercial, industrial, and business community. Additionally, she was named one of Hampton Roads “Top 40 Under 40” civic leaders in 2001 by “Inside Business” magazine. She resides and works in her hometown of Hampton, Virginia.
Anne currently holds the Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses and is also licensed in Life and Health insurance.
