2019 Downtown Hampton Block Party Schedule Announced
Hampton, Va. –The Downtown Hampton Development Partnership is pleased to announce the return of Downtown Hampton Block Parties with regional and national acts, which will take place downtown all summer long and on Halloween.
Now in its 25thyear, the Downtown Hampton Block Parties have evolved into a giant get togethers for all ages with music, a children’s play area, and vendors each week on Queens Way. The lineup includes music from local, regional and national entertainment covering a variety of genres. Country music’s next rising star Dylan Schneider will perform on June 8 with local musicians The Heart Stompers. The following week enjoy season 13 winner of American Idol Caleb Johnson perform songs from his latest album “Born From Southern Ground”. In July, we will feature Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds a seven-piece soul/rock band from Brooklyn, New York. Ghost-Note are a percussion-based funk, hip hop and jazz group from Dallas, TX that has its roots with Robert “Sput” Searight and founding percussionist Nate Werth, two members of the jazz band Snarky Puppy. Matt Stell will perform his country billboard chart song “Prayed For You” in August. All Block Parties begin at 6 p.m., with bands taking the stage at 7–10:30p.m.
