Looking for some fun things to do in Hampton Roads this weekend? Here's a look at some of your entertainment options.
It's time for the 35th annual Poquoson Seafood Festival, a grand celebration of the Chesapeake Bay, the people who work it, and the delicious seafood they provide. There will be live music and family activities during the festival.
This is also the weekend when the Yorktown Battlefield and the Yorktown Victory Center mark the 234th anniversary of the Revolutionary War battle that won our nation's independence. In Hampton, there is the Contemporary Arts Network art show downtown, and a new exhibition of miniature works at the Charles H. Taylor Center.
At the American Theatre, Freda Payne and Mary Wilson will pay tribute to Lena Horne and Ella Fitzgerald, and classic rockers REO Speedwagon come to the Ferguson Center. The Broadway show "The Illusionists" will bring seven spectacular magicians to Chrysler Hall all weekend long.
There will be classical music on the Peninsula from the Williamsburg Symphonia (at the Kimball) and the Hampron Roads Philharmonic (at the American). And Norfolk has got the Stockley Gardens Art Festival, the Town Point Virginia Wine Festival, and the art district's NEON Festival.
