Hampton Sheriff’s Office makes safety fun for children
HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Children’s safety was the theme for the 13th Annual Child Identification festival sponsored by the Hampton Sheriff’s Office at Carousel Park in Hampton Saturday afternoon.
This annual event is free and open to the public. It drew hundreds of children and their parents.
More than 50 Sheriff’s deputies volunteered to help promote child safety and to celebrate a day filled with activities like: games, music and dancing.
Theme characters roamed the park as deputy’s cruisers delivered the sounds of safety with their sirens and flashing blue lights.
The children at the event were fingerprinted and photographed as deputies manned several stations.
Bubbles the Clown led games and dances throughout the day that all had the same message about safety.
