Spotlight Business: Worn and Homespun

Boutique shopping is a very personal and unique experience that Sharonda Banks, owner of Worn and Homespun, 12 Olde Town Lane, has always been drawn to.  She decided Downtown Hampton was the perfect place to open her own boutique. Before she opened, Sharonda went back to school at Old Dominion University to get a degree in fashion merchandising.  After she accomplished this, Worn and Homespun was created.

Sharonda explained that Downtown Hampton is perfect for her vintage goods as she wanted to be located where there would be lots of foot traffic, festivals and an attractive community feel. While vintage apparel is a staple at Worn and Homespun, it also offers an array of different goods from modern apparel, handmade jewelry, accessories, soaps, herbs and vitamins.  Each item is extremely unique and full of heart; local artists make many of its pieces.  Sharonda loves to interact with customers and be their personal stylist. It means so much to her to have customers fall in love with what they find and see repeated faces come back for more.   The boutique gives off an extremely cozy feel, so customers can be comfortable browsing the racks and feel as if they are being catered to personally.

Although this business has only been open for almost a year and a half, Worn and Homespun has recently expanded to cater to online clientele as people from other states have shown interest in its goods.  The online store is just a sampling of what one can find within the welcoming walls of Worn and Homespun.  Go visit the store yourself to see what handmade goods you’ll fall in love with today!
