Southern Bay Race Week Returns June 4
The beautiful Chesapeake Bay is the home of the Southern Bay Race Week and the Hampton Yacht Club serves as host for this annual event that promises to be an exhilarating weekend.
The event begins on Friday, June 4 and extends to Sunday, June 6, 2021. Unfortunately, last year's race week was canceled due to the pandemic. However, this year the enthusiasm is tripled and the competition will heat up to a fun-friendly fever pitch after participants have dealt with an unprecedented year.
Let's all come together in the spirit of fun, friends and great sportsmanship. Getting back to the things we love is the underlying spirit of this year's regatta.

All races feature drop mark courses with the culminating trademark Saturday Distance Race. This has become a beloved standard at Southern Bank Race Week. The racing events feature competition at three different Chesapeake Bay venues:

The Bay Off Of Buckroe
The Bay Off Of Ocean View
Hampton Yacht Club likes to keep the water moving in every way, not just in location. The races are challenging and competitive, yet fun and exuberant.
Southern hospitality courses throughout the week. We'll take care of your yacht and/or watercraft with complementary rafting, trailer storage, and launch and retrieval from Hampton Yacht Club hoists. You and yours will be treated with the utmost care and accommodation. All attendees will have access to a special reduced rate at the local downtown, waterfront hotel. If this is a return trip for you, there is an entry fee discount. You and yours will be catered to by more than 100 Hampton Yacht Club volunteers. These volunteers are our backbone because they make the whole experience smooth and easy. In fact, our gracious volunteers are the very best on the Southern bay and beyond. The Southern Bay Race Week could not float without them.
